The 2022 version of the classic Helle Temagami comes with 14C28N stainless steel – more suited to how this knife is mostly used.

Using a non-laminated steel also allows a 90-degree sharp spine right out of the box. A sharp spine can be used for many things, one is to light a fire using a ferro rod and much more.

The new Temagami also comes with a beautiful, tan color sheath.

Stroud knife review

Good looking knife, the detail is great! Appears to be very stout.

My go to knife

I have an older version of this Temagami CA. Without the survivor man logo. High carbon requires a little more maintenance but that is not a big deal at all! Sharp as hell and it holds it edge. It almost seems to hold the edge better the more I use it. Like all Hellè knives it’s unique and has that hand crafted mojo that keeps me excited about using it.
I’ve read online where there has been some handles breaking at the finger stop just before the blade. I’m yet to have any issues with that but I can see how it might take a breaking blow if it is hit during a hard blow when splitting wood. I personally use my Tom Brown Tracker S-5573 for serious splitting and abuse.
Absolutely love my Hellè knives! Best knives in my useful collection.
